Rather than making your users maintain Sales Taxes, allow for a company like Avalara to offer a plug-in for Sage 100 Contractor that allows real-time Sales Tax rate look-ups/calls to their database, to ensure rates are always correct. Allow this in 3-5 Job Screen and flow through to Proposals, Estimates, Change Orders, Service Receivables, Purchase Orders, and of course, AP Invoices and AR invoices.

As a National Company with the POTENTIAL to quote, ship to, perform, and invoice work in every tax district in the US, I have to manually maintain over 43,000 Sales Tax Entities and Districts through "other programs+Excel" for Version 19 and manually write to the database, as your system in 19 maxes out far below 43,000 records. I fear moving to version 20 because I have no one to duplicate this process in SQL.

We were forced onto Sage 50 (formerly Peachtree) for 2 months following new ownership of our company and Sage 50 allows for real-time sales tax rate look-ups and allows us to set up AVALARA as a sales tax entity and query their always maintained rates as per MY established rules - my taxability changes state to state as to whether I'm subject to collect and pay sales tax on materials, freight, labor, equipment rental, repair services, etc., not to mention that taxability can also differ in some states if the work is done as new construction, as a change to Real property, replacement services, etc.. Taxability has become too difficult for a typical company to stay on-top of rate changes and rules if they work in more than a limited or regional area.

ALSO, please allow for Sales Tax to be applied to the Extended Sale Price where/when needed rather than only to cost.
