Can you please, please add/create Excel friendly versions of reports?

I'm used to being able to pull G/L detail and Job Cost detail into Excel to then filter or put into a PivotTable. Unfortunately, the line breaks in the system reports prevent me from being able to do this without manually removing all of the blank lines first. This is extremely time consuming and frustrating when trying to review and analyze multiple jobs and/or G/Ls at a time.

Also, I typically keep my B/S schedules from the G/L detail pulled straight from the system. I have worked in QB, AS400, OneSite, Yardi - they all have much better reports setup for Excel lovers. Seems a little odd to me that Sage reports are not similar considering the amount of data that can be entered. It sure makes research and analysis very difficult and frustrating.

I've seen similar requests for specific reports, but I feel that all, if not most, of the system reports should have an Excel friendly version. Especially Accounting and Job reports.

  • Let me add another please or two to this. Your reports are mostly unusable for the average accountant because you don't know how to export data to Excel. I will go so far as to say that when we next evaluate our accounting software if this is not addressed by then, we will be moving to another solution.
