Currently can allocate inventory by part only. Assemblies can allocate if used thru Service Receivables.

When requested for a project whether by field personnel or during fabrication the employee references a component (assembly) that might consist of 9 parts.

When allocating to a project - the "assembly"is what is referenced. The person who enters into 12-2 would have no easy way of knowing which part #'s constitute the main assembly.

Yes a report could be currently printed to reference which parts are included, but the individual part # may not be a 1:1 (such as 2.5 LF, .50 SF, 2 Each etc.) Which would introduce increased chance of errors.

Allocating by Assemblies for project costing could ensure components are not missed for T&M, accurate job costing and increase accuracy of inventory on hand balances.
