Need the ability to export budget based on specific bid item types (1 - base bid, 2-allowances, 3-Alternate, 4-Changes). If a project manager forgot to export the original budget and tried to export it after a change order was added to the takeoff, then the estimated cost at completion is overstated on the over/under billing report.
Ex.: Original Budget from Takeoff under base bid = 500.00, Change orders added to Takeoff under changes = 500.00
Over/Under Billing Report for Est. Cost At Completion, which should be 1,000.00, shows 1,500.00. When you drill down (6-1-7-31), you see the following.
Budget | Changes | Total
1000.00 | 500.00 | 1,500.00
Basically, the Budget column is actually budget plus changes…so the report is adding changes twice.
Reason this occurs: If you have a bid item type of 4-Change Order inside your takeoff and you export your budget, this exports ALL bid items including changes to the budget.
I understand that ideally you would want to export your budget BEFORE you add changes to your takeoff, however, we simply do not live in an ideal world. In fact, I can definitely think of instances where you would want to be able to independently export different parts of the budget by bid items. Not to mention, people are human and can be forgetful.

It would also be preferable if Phases could be selectively exported as well (if you're going to develop this, develop it with maximum functionality).
As a work around we created a simple report that replicates the Budget columns, and can be exported to Excel. Ours is grouped by phase (because budgets are organized by phase), and any/all Bid Items can be included/excluded. Works pretty good, but it's silly that this had to be developed. It should definitely be built in. It should operate as smoothly as exporting POs or Change Orders goes.
