Several of our service clients have expressed a need for this.
They take deposits from clients when the generate the work order.
Once the work is completed, they post the work order and it becomes an invoice.
They usually don't remember to go to cash receipts screen an cross post the deposit.

Since the deposit amount does not reduce the invoice balance, they often overcharge clients and don't catch it until the review their aging reports.
Then they have to go through the process of issuing a refund.
