Once you assign employees to tasks and jobs in the scheduling module, you should be able to export this information directly to the dispatch board so you can see employee allocation and utilize the email employee dispatch feature.

When changes are made to the schedule, the Gantt chart gets updated, and this should also update those employees on the dispatch board to match.

The Gantt chart is great, but it does not show you which specific employees are scheduled. The dispatch board provides a clear visual chart for this.

Further Explanation:
I know that the dispatch board is intended for the Service Module, however we needed a way to visualize our manpower allocation and distribute schedules to our field staff on our large projects. We found a solution by creating workorders for our projects, assigning the job to the workorder so they were linked, and then scheduling that workorder on the dispatch board for each employee assigned to the job for the entire duration of the project (weeks/months). This way we could see which and how many mechanics/juniors/helpers etc were scheduled to plan appropriate crew size and skill, as well as avoid scheduling conflicts, and then easily email all techs their daily schedule.

This has been working beautifully, however it would greatly benefit us to have the scheduling module and the dispatch board work together so that we don't have to do double entry.

Comments

  • This would also assist with employees who work in service but sometimes also work on jobs. It’s extremely difficult to schedule when an emoloyee is involved in both jobs and service calls.

  • To add to the above, also make scheduling module integrate with Daily field reports. All you would have to do is have an import function that would import for a week or for the day.
