This would allow users to vote for AND against product ideas. This would make it easier for developers and users to not only see which ideas people like, but also differentiate between the disliked ideas and the ones that people didn't pay attention to.

See, you could have downvoted this idea if you didn’t like it. Instead, it’s showing as “1 vote”, just like A LOT of other requests. Lots of these 1 vote ideas are great, but people overlook them (especially if they’re over a month old). There are so many suggestions being submitted, it’s way too time consuming for both users and developers to read through every submission. Having a downvote button would help bring great ideas to the forefront.
