Rather than launching an obscure dialog box to enter custom fields, perhaps create a tab for the custom field, so that users can easily find them.
For example, on the Change order screen the prime changes and its grid control are one Tab, and the Sub Changes are on a separate tab.
It would be nice to have this on the Subcontract Entry. For example, I'd recommend placing the Subcontract lines detail grid on a Tab, and the Custom fields on a second tab.
It would be a much cleaner and more productive presentation.
