It would be more helpful and less chance of error if the SUI for multistate employees would calculation via locale rather than having to be overridden on the payroll record.

  • Currently: State Unemployment calculations that are Active = Yes on the employee’s 5-2-1 record will ALWAYS calculate – regardless of work location. If you want to pay more than one state for unemployment tax on a payroll record, you will need to manually override the amounts under the Calculations tab in the 5-2-2 Payroll Record after a Trial Compute. For more information, please see the linked article "How does Sage 100 Contractor calculate State Unemployment in a multiple state environment?" in the Related Resources section of this article

This is a pain point for customers & should be addressed as it can cause inaccurate reporting on Aatrix state forms.

  • I agree. I just discovered this issue applies to SDI as well. I was told to inactivate it, which will only work on payroll periods where employees only work one state. I was then told to manually calculate SDI & SUI when our employees work multiple states. However, the gross amounts that Aatrix pulls will be incorrect. Sage should just make it so that the calculations are defaulted to the employee state and overriden by the locale in the payroll record grid.
