Filters in the general ledger would be great when searching for a particular transaction.

Go into 1 - 3, choose "File" -> "Find" from the menu bar, highlight the closest query to what you want in the list, choose the "Edit" button, give it a name, and then design the new query that you want. When you're done it gets added to that list. You can just choose "File" -> "Find" next time, pick it, enter your values, and it will run.
