We are attempting to build an alert or report that depends on a date field in the 3-5 screen. The table is Actrec. The screen is 3-5 on the Project Dates & Sales Information tab. The database refers to the field as Cmpdte. Even though the field is known to be a date, the database recognizes the data as a string. This is a flaw. If you attempt to build an alert where the selection criteria will notify you when a contract balance is >0 and this field date is >90 days old, the alert will never work. The database must be updated to view the Actrec/Cmpdte as a date and not a string. No report can be built using this field and no alert can be generated based on an aging date if the date is viewed as a string.
