Clients who do not purchase the equipment module like to utilize the overhead range for their indirect accounts, and then the admin section for company expenses. The two options that have that layout (Home Builder & Remodeler) have the Income accounts, Shop and Direct Expense accounts sharing the 3000 # range which is not good.
It is much better for clients to have distinct separation of numbers for different account ranges.
So I would like to see Assets at 1000, Liabilities at 3000, Equity at 3000, Income at 4000, Direct Expense at 5000, Shop at 6000, Overhead and 7000, Admin at 8000, and 9000 for after tax expenses. None of the current choices take advantage of using all the available numbers.
Or since the Subcontractor and General Contractor lists are the same, just change the subcontractor COA as above. They are the ones who typically want the Indirect Section
And by the way, when they removed all the excess accounts, they removed all depreciation expense accounts, so now we have to add one back manually.
