Just like changing the cost code in 6-3 updates the details for AP, could you please add that option for payroll somehow? Or add an option to update the cost code for posted payroll records like you do for changing the job. Some clients use cost codes on the timecard for special reporting and re-creating payroll records to fix the cost code on the timecard for their report is very time consuming.
