Users need to be able to select clients, vendors, jobs when creating records like invoices, work orders, change orders, etc. You should be a security option that allows you to block the "No matching record found. Do you want to create a new one? Yes/No' message. There should be an option that says, 'invalid, select an existing client/vendor/job'.

Oh this would be good, I wonder how it could work, maybe by searching the client name and address, however if there are duplicate addresses, which there could be when a customer moves, that may not be as simple. I do understand what you are saying though and a fix would be lovely. There is a way to merge clients files however you have to be in Sage exclusively.
