Larry, you can modify the screens in V4.4 to add this functionality. I agree that prior to this release, it was a constant PITA. It is much easier now. It is so important that this SHOULD be a standard field that displays.
This simple upgrade would prevent the majority of "back-order" PO's in our system that don't have any outstanding goods on them.
Receipt of Invoice functionality should mimic Receipt of Goods functionality, and users should be warned if quantity exceeds. Quantity Received and Quantity Invoiced in nice information to have in Purchase Order Data Entry Lines tab, but would like to also see these fields in Receipt of Goods data entry and Receipt of Invoice data entry.
In 2014 version I was able to add the quantity previously invoiced to the detail grid. But we still need a prompt or display if the previous quantity plus the new invoice quantity exceeds received quantity.
