There needs to be an upgrade utility for 4.3-4.4 upgrades to migrate paperless office data files and PDFs (without having to go in and move each and every document) and without having to remigrate the System files.

Comments

  • Parallel migration is required now in MAS 90 and MAS 200. Paperless office is now part of the system (so everyone has it, expect it to be turned on) and is updated on a daily basis with Sales orders, registers etc. This defeats the purpose of parallel migration if the purpose was to allow minimal downtime. The "go live" conversion would require a full reconversion with full testing of custom modifications and other systems after importing them back in, once migrated.

To allow an import of paperless information is much easier than to deal with reimporting modifications and retesting just before releasing system to end users.

  • Also makes test upgrades a pain. I was glad to hear in the Friday Focus today that Sage is working on a utility for this. I hope it's high on the priority list!

  • Within setup, make customer select a network path for paperless office files like system & data paths fields. In the PL module, setup is then deteremined by a directory off that path.

Have utility to update path of files as needed. Also move PL from system folder. Is it a module or system module.

  • We have been using an internally generated utility that globally changes the path of paperless when we copy/paste them to a new folder/server. This should be designed into Sage meaning the path to paperless documents might be stored in the MAS_XXX folder.

Perhaps have an option so that people who are presently storing the files outside of \MAS90 can continue to do so. However, storing inside of the Sage folder makes much more sense for backups.

I'd vote for the same standardization for ACH and Positive Pay export files.

It can be exhausting to chase the separate paths that have been created for paperless, ACH, PP - especially when multiple companies are involved.
