In a much older version of MAS 90 you could chat with other logged-in users. It was a very basic function, but quite handy. Also, if given proper permissions, you could shut down individual users and tasks that they were in. You didn't have to shut down everyone as you do now in v4.4.

The chat feature was removed as there are other more widely used instant messenging programs on the market maintained by other companies.
The most important part of this request is being able to shut down other users without having to walk all the way around the building to each office, get through locked doors etc to be able to log off employees that have forgotten to do so themselves before leaving. In our company we dont get a back up if everyone isnt logged out so this would be a very useful enhancement.
I realize that there are other instant message programs that we could use. However some employers like to block those so that employees cannot abuse them. If it were local to MAS only then you could ensure that you're only talking within the company. It was a very functional feature. Also it wouldnt require internet access.
Agree - we don't allow external IM software. Also, the "Shutdown users" shouldn't close the administrator out. We shutdown users so we can perform maintenance tasks. Throwing us out as well delays the ability to run those tasks. It also doesn't keep some clown from immediately logging back is as the ver 3.x did.
Since you can already do this in Sage 100 ERP Professional (formerly MAS 200), it seems like it would be easy to re-implement in Sage 100 ERP (formerly MAS 90). I second all reasons stated above and add that a lot of us work remotely in the evenings and need this capability since running many of the utilities require users to be logged out of tasks.
In L/M Master Console, you have the ability to broadcast a message to users, and you can shut down a task for a specific user or all users.
