In many instances we wanted to create a company with some modules except GL. Also sometimes we wanted to copy other modules without overwriting existing General Ledger data. Currently it is not possible because GL module is always checked by default when copying data to another company.

I think this is because GL is now a required module. Copying the other modules without GL data can also be problematic because in some instances reports may reference data that is expected to be present in the GL such as account numbers, etc.
