As Mas90 chose to use Crystal Reports for all of their "canned reports" within the software, their customer support people should know the program and be able to provide assistance. Since their Mas90 software has many shortcomings as to the information that is available (ie. YTD & PYTD Sales, all sales history is "lost" due to a conversion; therefore, the Mas90 canned reports are not able to correctly pull the sales data---it can only be done by writing a separate Crystal Report, etc...), Mas90 needs to step up their support. We pay them a service fee.....we expect decent service.

Leslie,
It is true Sage does offer limited support on customizing our product. Details on what support can assist you with regarding reporting is documented on the Sage ERP MAS 90 / 200 support sight under “Supported Topics - Review which topics are covered (and not covered) by Customer Support.”

We will support the canned Crystal reports just as we supported the Standard Reports previously: If data is incorrect or there is an error or display issue caused by the program we will resolve it in support or report it to R&D and get it resolved as expediantly as possible. We can also assist in helping you find the tables where data resides.
Now that Crystal Reports are used throughout the program you have the capability to implement format changes or even functional changes to the existing reports and forms or as you mentioned create reports from scratch. Previously a Master Developer would have been required to make changes to this degree.
If you need advise on customizing a form or report I highly suggest the Sage Community Forums. Sage can also provide training at www.SageU.com. And of course your reseller is invaluable resource for any type of customization.
You mentioned “lost” sales PTD and YTD information after a conversion. I am not certain what you mean but you could be referring to the changes we made to AR_Customer table when we went to 4.10 in 2005.
The AR1 had calculated year to date and prior year to date fields in the table and the AR_Customer does not. These fields were removed because they violated database design rules and they could be incorrect frequently unless you rebuilt your sort files religiously.
----> On the Sage Community forums you can find two excellent threads on how to write a formula that will achieve these values in a Crystal report. The second also has instructions for setting up view in Business Insights Explorer that will also allow you to access this data easily.
