Work Order should allow the proper calculation for cost for partial completions. The system calculates the cost correctly by the time the work order is fully completed, however during the partial completions the costs are incorrect especially if you use actual cost methodology. this results in the gross margin by item, invoice, commission due salespeople to be incorrect. This is a major problem and currently the only way around this is to use planned cost for completions.
This is a mathematical formula that is needed to do the calculations. The variables are in the file and Sage should fix this as many businesses do partial completions to assist their clients. They need to rush orders through and do not always have sufficient components on hand to complete full work order quantity. To assume that all components are issued in calculating completion entries is just plain and simple wrong.
This issue has been on going since the beginning of work order and its time it gets addressed.
