To automate the running of these reports, we need the ability to specify the period when we run them. Also, would only need to setup one set of financials if we could specify the Period each time the report is run. We would not need a set/workbook of reports for each Period/Month.

  • When the data is exported to the spreadsheet, it provides all the information needed to do any of the months for the year, you just have to specify which month you wish to view. One report is good for all years.

Selecting a reporting date: (Change Period)
A reporting period is the period which controls the display of values on any layouts you have generated within
the workbook. Example:You are currently in the 6th period, and you wish to have the Income statement display
values to the end of the 5th period, then by selecting the reportingperiod as Period 05, you would achieve this.
    To Select a Reporting Period:
    Excel 2003:
Click on the "Change Period" button located on the toolbar at the top left of your Excel screen, above the name box.
Click the downward arrow and select the period to view

    Excel 2007:
Click on Add-Ins on the menu bar, then click on "Change Period" on the Custom Toolbar
Click the downward arrow and select the period to view

Cannot find the toolbar to change the period:
    1. Excel 2003: Press Alt-F8 (or Select, Tools, Macro, Macros, from the menu bar)
Excel 2007: Press Alt-F8 (or Select Developer, then Macro from the menu bar)
    2. Select the macro named "Build FA toolbar"
    3. Click the Run button to run the macro.
    4. The toolbar should now be visible again
