I do not know how to print just the part of the description that is too long for the regular field. If you add the ext desc to the reports design then it prints both the regular and the entire extended. If you remove the item description from the report and the description is not long enough to bring the extended description into play, then nothing prints on the reports. Either make the regular field longer and do away with the extended description or make all items print with the ext desc even if the description is short.
