We do a lot of special pricing by item and by customer and for every entry, I have to change the Pricing Method from Price Discount Amount to Price Override. I believe it used to default to the last used (pre 4.4) but now it always defaults to Price Discount Amount.

You can already do this with custom office | User Defined field and table maintenance | Advanced Field Settings. (at least you can in 4.5).
