When you open up window in the Paperless feature, you have the ability to search by "accounting date". This works fine for all modules except General Ledger since the date displayed is actually the module date, which in most cases is the date the journal was created. It would be more useful to utilise the accounting date of the journal since for GL, we're always posting to the prior period, especially for manual journal entries. When searching for journal entry in a particular accounting period, you can then use the actual accounting period, rather than trying to guess which date was used to actually enter and post the journal entry

  • I think the isue with this, although I'd like to see it changed, is that you could have postings from AP, AR, IM, all with different posting dates waiting to be posted to the GL - and it only saves this as the one GL Daily Trans Register to Paperless Office. It can only use one date - so it grabs the GL accounting date. Not very helpful when searching for GL entries, I agree. Maybe if it's just a GL entry the logic could be changed to grab the GL posting date?

  • Agreed! It should be the Transaction (posting) date. In fact, I wish there was no "module date". It is generally worthless and confusing.
