Every time an ALE lookup window is displayed, it is sorted by the ID/Key field. For example, in AP Invoice Data Entry the ALE for vendor is sorted by vendor ID. It would be more efficient if it could always display the listing sorted by vendor name, or whatever column the user has specified.

• You can sort by customer name in ALE already. In the filters area, choose "Customer Name" then operand "Greater Than" and in the comparison box enter "0" (which is a zero not an oh).

• The same technique may be used for a variety of fields. The Custom ALE feature is well worth getting very familiar with. Handy export tool too.
