When a kit item is entered on a sales order and the components explode, there is no alert when a component is not available, and the user must check every line manually. This is quite time consuming when a kit is large.

  • Rather than wait for Sage, you can create a simple crystal report to check your on-hand quantities.

  • This feature would be very helpful. Having to run a report to check on-hand quantities would be working around the system and not give immediate indication for action. Would Sage Alerts or Inventory Adviser have this function?

  • I agree. Having the quantity alert integrated just as it is on individual items would be very helpful. We have a number of kits in our catalog, some of which share specific components.

  • “I also agree. Not having the information available for quantity on hand as it relates to kits, truthfully makes sales kits irrelevant. If a customer places an order... you don't know if you can fill the order... that's the bottom line.
It would be useful to have that information as with all other parts.

  • We made a UDF to hold quantity available. A script looks those numbers up, does the math, and puts it in the box on each line. Not a very hard script to implement.
