When a Quote is converted to a Sales Order, the Expire Date of the Quote changes to the Ship Date of the Sales Order and defaults to the current date (which we usually change). However, the Promise Date on each line item remains the Expire Date of the original Quote. The Promise Date should reflect what is listed in the Ship Date field of the Sales Order.

  • I have created a script for a client that when they change the date on the header, it prompts them to change the promise date on the lines. You could do this too.

  • Should be option or prompt to the user, I don't think everyone would want it to automatically change the lines.

  • From the testing I completed, if you change the ship date on the header, and the previous ship date is the same date as the promise date, it changes all line items promise date to the newly entered header ship date automatically. This is standard Sage 100.
