We use bills of material in MAS for design control and communication with contract manufacturers when a bill is not assembled in house. In the same manner that MRP does not explode bills that are buy items, cost roll up should not roll up component costs, but rather use the contract cost (last cost) from the CM. Some bills are make, some are buy. We do not kit material for the CM. I would like this feature to be selectable in either set up or as a check box on the cost roll up panel, allowing users to roll up costs as currently done or using this enhancement.

  • Has there been any work on this? I would benefit from this same capability as I have design authority of many purchased parts, but currently have no way to maintain BOM details in Sage for those items. By telling Cost Roll Up to use last or standard price from IM on all Buy items I'd be able to track where components are used on purchased assemblies.
