Add a Utility to Inventory Maintenance to Change the Product Line for items, similar to the Delete/Change Items Utility.
This utility is needed to be able to change multiple items at once AND the utility would also change History. This way reports run by Product Line would reflect accurate history.

Good idea; however, someone would need to address the GL accounts if you had different GL inventory accounts for each product line.
I need this utility. VI import on changing the item's product line is difficult and haven't figured it out yet

Sage 100 will allow you to change a Product Line in Item Maintenance when there is quantity on hand, transaction history, etc... Not all customers have VI to import in a change to that field for a larger group of items. A utility would be easier. Use the selection criteria by entering a range, single items or multiple items separated by commas to create the list which can be done in the Item Valuation Change Selection utility.

The problem with changing history files when the product line changes is that a lot of the history files don't have the product line. Like Inventory Transaction History and Bill of Materials Production History. All history files containing inventory items should have the Product Line or the GL account that each record affects.
would be very useful. Also increase the field size for product line code, 4 is way too small.
