Currently Options in BOM prompt at the picking sheet, production entry and at the time of sale. I would like to have the option only prompt at picking sheet and production entry. Idea being, a specific component can be replaced with an alternate item. This replacement does not change the end product. Therefore, having the assembly team be prompted to identfy which item was used, is important. At the time of sale it is not important for the sales team to choose between preferred and alternate item.

Clarification - Currently in BOM setup options, tab 1, the user is able to select “Use Option Bills”.
It would be helpful to be able to select in BOM option maintenance where the Option needs to be prompted; sales order, bom, or both.
There are times when variance of certain bill components is determined only at assembly not at time of sale.
