the costed bom report generates incorrect results. we just completed a multi level vehicle assembly. the current last cost is correctly displayed in inventory maintinence. when I run the last costed bom report; the cost is several thousand dollars less. our cost & estimating group is trying to use this report when pricing for new sales quotes; but the information is wrong. why is this?

When you have multi levels in a BOM the costed BOM report will look at each subassembly and cost it at the raw material level. to get to the cost of the parent item you have to run each subassembly seperately and add them together.
Hi Gary, so if I interpret you correctly the only cost missing would be the labor for a particular assembly(s). That is not the case. Even when I do the costed bom report on a lower level assembly; it misses or incorrectly list the cost of parts. We just do not understand where this report actually draw its cost from. Thanks for the feedback.
I would like to ask that we get back to basics ....We want the Costed Bill of Materials report to generate the Last Cost or Std Cost on the Bill selected. It should match the Last cost in the Item Maintenance. It is just that basic. We are doing the same as above, using this report to know where to price the product. You have over thought this process. Give us the basics...Real numbers that will allow us to be real accurate.
Why is it the labor cost excluded when an assembly part was completed thru work order module. Only the materials cost are adding up.
