Currently there is no way to export the file with W2 information from Aatrix preparer. Clients who used magnetic media in the past no longer have the ability to do so in the newer versions and they would be forced to use eFiling with Aatrix and pay if they want to e-file. Some clients may not wish to pay to use eFile since they were able to create a file and upload it at no cost before.

I spoke to Aatrix and asked if they could take the Sage 100 ERP data that was uploaded to them by this end user and instead of eFiling with the Federal and State / Local governments that Aatrix would send those files back to the client. I had 3 separate phone calls with Aatrix on this and they said they would not be willing to provide the files back to our client instead of efiling them.
I don’t know if Sage could pursue this as an option with Aatrix for next year. It’s not even W2 time yet, but so far, this is the only client that actually told me they are planning to replace Sage 100 ERP next year due to the Aatrix mandated transition. Please note there have already been quite a few Sage 100 ERP payroll end users that expressed their disappointment with either (1) the inability to efile themselves, or (2) the inability to print employee W2 forms as 2 per page.
I really dislike losing a customer especially when it is something that could be avoided.
