I asked a question to Aatrix tech support about them charging my company for them to file our W-2's when I have been filing them electronically for free for the past eight years. The Federal and State website don't charge to submit W-2's electronically. Aatrix's response was I could file paper copies. This isn’t possible as I have over 800 W-2's. Their next response was "Sage may also have another way to export files in the formats you need". So my question to Sage is, are you able to provide me with a file format like you have in the past for me to upload the files myself? Please let your supervisors know I am not happy having to pay Aatrix for something I can do for free if you would provide the electronic file. And that Aatrix will be able to submit the file for free too, but charge us for them doing it.

  • I totally agree. It's like Sage is selling the naming rights to a "stadium". We already pay for this software and you are passing along the duties of maintaining certain aspects to third party vendors and we pay for it. Is the payroll module next to be sold out to ADP?

  • I spoke to Aatrix and asked if they could take the Sage 100 ERP data that was uploaded to them by this end user and instead of eFiling with the Federal and State / Local governments that Aatrix would send those files back to the client. I had 3 separate phone calls with Aatrix on this and they said they would not be willing to provide the files back to our client instead of efiling them.

I don’t know if Sage could pursue this as an option with Aatrix for next year. It’s not even W2 time yet, but so far, this is the only client that actually told me they are planning to replace Sage 100 ERP next year due to the Aatrix mandated transition. Please note there have already been quite a few Sage 100 ERP payroll end users that expressed their disappointment with either (1) the inability to efile themselves, or (2) the inability to print W2 forms as 2 per page.

I really dislike losing a customer especially when it is something that could be avoided.
