Since some of the fields in inventory such as on S/O, on P/O, etc. do periodically get out of sync with reality for whatever reason, it would be nice if there was some way to automatically run this at night when everyone is out of the system on a regular basis.

Our SO and PO get out of sync so often that we have added a Rebuild of the Sort Files to our Monthly Closing Process. Unfortunately, we often have to rebuild the sort files throughout the month. Automating this to run nightly would improve our trust in the integrity of the data that is being displayed and decrease the time we spend switching between inventory screens verifying the data.

I am having to rebuild sort files every 1-2 weeks due to things being out of sync. A way to schedule or even script this would be a huge help!
I don't run this as often as I should. I normally wait until a user complains about something being out of sync. However, I shouldn't be waiting because they could be relying on faulty information. Having the ability to schedule this utility would be a great asset.
Idea# 15357 also touches on this issues of values getting out of sync.
I have to rebuild every Friday... would love to have an auto run utility!
Also add to rebuild Work Order Sort Files
Yes, please or fix the underlying issue with the sort files. We have to run every two weeks or more often. Additionally, it would be great if we could run the rebuild for all companies/modules. If you're preforming and upgrade with more than one company, this can be quite time consuming. We have 8+.
This has become a very serious issue. The QUANTITY COMMITTED field in Item_Cost is being written to on an almost daily basic. We have had Sage for 12 years and it's never been an issue. I am unable to use the sort fix as we almost always have a batch open. So I am the only one that can go into the raw data (Item_Cost) and change the QUANTITY COMMITTED field to zero. This bug is huge problem for us and we are a factory and when someone in the factory can't use a tag it stops the process of transferring inventory or creating an invoice. Also, we have two companies; it's only happening in one.
I have a client who has to rebuild WO Sorts every night. This would be a godsend.
We typically have open invoice batches and can't run. Have to use DFDM to correct. If the utilities also looked at the open batches then the only issue is if someone is entering. Committed qty has been updated by the so invoice detail is in memory versus disk. Can't be sure if entry is in process.
I can vouch that this is an issue and increases the need to almost daily when you have more than 40 users heavily using inventory and multiple warehouses.
It is really concerning that we have to run the Rebuild Sort Utility 3x a week because our inventory quantity fields end up being incorrect and we, nor our Sage reseller, can figure out why. Reseller wants $4-5K to build a script that will run on a schedule to do rebuild the necessary files in the PO, BM, SO and IM modules. I vote yes for this feature, but really want to know WHY we have to keep doing this.
This would be very helpful as we now need to assign a user to do it.
