Sales Order Entry, Inventory Inquiry and maybe customer and vendor inquiry have IM module files open. Basically, we need to get everyone out of Sage 100 in order to freeze the inventory.
If we had a 5-user system this would be OK, but with a 40-user system, this is unacceptable.
We understand the need to properly sync up our updates with our freeze.
We understand if we don't do this we may have bogus variances.
But we do a lot of cycle counting. The groups of items we are counting are not being touched; the updates are under control. This is true when we count a small section of our inventory or even a large section.
Another possibility is that we are counting a supplies warehouse. There is no shipping, production, or customer pricing associated with the items. It is just the biggest nuisance to have everyone exit for the freeze.
If this could be provided at least as an inventory management option -- that would be fantastic.

I couldn't agree more! Sage doesn't allow for ongoing, regular cycle counting, only large scale physical counts. It is a big inconvenience to have to wait until everyone is out of the system to be able to post one batch and create the next on a daily basis!
I Agree! We need regular cycle counting and to be able to freeze at any time without kicking everyone out of the system. Looking for when this might be changed as it is an immediate need for us.
