Sage 100: Why does there need to be so many steps when posting a journal. Other ERP systems i have worked with you hit post and ALL are updated and no choice needs made to update the SL and/or G/L. Seems like extra work plus if you mess up and don't finish posting because you clicked wrong button, then now you have problems balancing.

Infact, in other software, I can put the date of the transaction which is the date it updates G/L and the subledger detail. Very nice. I can enter a G/L entry and post to several different months in one posting.

I have always thought the posting process is too lengthy. It's done in two steps that can be consolidated to one. Also, when posting batches, sometimes you have to select the batch you want to post multiple times. Streamlining the posting process can definitely save time and improve efficiency.
