Have a Sales Order Entry Option in Setup to change the Sales Order Date to the CURRENT date when a Quote is changed to a Sales Order.

Currently, if the date is not changed manually, the SO looks like it is "old" and really it isn't.

So a simple "checkbox" in Sales Order Options - Entry Tab that would be something like...
When converting a Quote to a Sales Order change date to current date (checked YES - unchecked NO)

  • Good idea! Furthermore, maybe preserve the quote in history with a comment saying converted to SO.

  • I think a lot of clients would LOVE this option!

  • In Sage 100 ERP 2015, there is a new date field after converting a quote to a standard order. It is "Promoted to Order On". You will find it on the SO Entry Header tab after the Order Type is changed.

This way you maintain the original date of the Quote and also the new date of when it became a Standard Order. Not the same as what is being requested but, similar.

  • Good idea I agree.

  • This would be extremely helpful. It's just one more thing to remember when converting a quote to an order.
