Please add the option for password never expires in user maintenance. Sometimes a "virtual" user is set up to connect to Sage 100 applications or database for integration purposes. Example might be Doc Link or CRM or another 3rd party product. It would be helpful to set the passwords for these users to never expire so the integration doesn't break.

One of my clients spent 3 days trying to troubleshoot Sage 100 with Doc Link integration connection issues before they discovered that the password for the Sage 100 user set up for the integration had expired.

  • I would like to add my voice to this request. In this specific case, the app is Beanworks AP Automation which does not support unified logon so we have to disable that and in turn create accounts for all the Sage users as well as a Sage account/password to allow the sync tool to operate.

The challenge this presents is the customer is used to a higher level of security on the passwords ( which unified is great for ) then when they have to shut down the unified due to an app integration requirement they are stuck babysitting this service Sage account so they remember to reset the password upon expiration.

In a larger company, this can be challenging because you often:
    1. Have a ticketing system - who submits the ticket unless this suddenly appears and becomes urgent
    2. Have password policies approved by internal audit/audit compliance
    3. Need to determine whether IT is responsible for changing the password or whether an accounting staff changes the password ( which can result in a segregation of duties issue for audit ).

It's not ideal but it would be very helpful if on user maintenance there was a checkbox that exempted that account from password changes.
