I've been using Sage for about 20 years, and we have several companies in Sage 100. We've always used warehouse 000 as the default warehouse. Due to having to use multiple warehouses with web-based shipping software, we can't use the same default warehouse code for each company. As a result we've had to change warehouse codes. Not only that, having the same default warehouse code for multiple companies in Sage can also be confusing.

The problem arises when you can only fit five warehouses on the default lookup panels. If your default warehouse code is 005 or higher it's not in the lookup area. So, if the default warehouse code (or the default code for the item) could always be at the top of the window it would make things easier.

Alternately, if you could choose to sort the way they are viewed by the different columns that would be great. This would be similar to the way you can show how invoices can be viewed in AR Customer Maintenance/Inquiry.

  • The quantity tab in inventory inquiry shows what I estimate to be 12+ warehouses, more if you maximize. You can also sort by the different columns by clicking on the top of the column.

I do get your point about having an option to have the default warehouse automatically bubble to the top.
