If a lot does not exist in item_cost file sage allows the item lot to be entered but only on one card.
Sage displays prompt "is this a new lot/serial number?".
We answer yes and enter.

If we try to enter the same item lot on a second card we get a message "this serial number has already been entered 000000009". 000000009 is the count card of the original entry.

It's not a serial item. It's a lotted item.

The fact that "lot/serial" is not the term used in the message makes me think it's treating this as a serialized item and then of course it makes sense to prevent a duplicate entry. This is not case for a lotted item.

Looks like a bug to me but either way the capability to enter a "discovered" lot on more than one card is needed by us.
