Find it very frustrating to have these restrictions from the 1980's still in place. Others areas of frustration that I recall is the inability to roll up BOM costs if BOM is a kit and the inability to explode line BOM line items on SO if BOM is a standard build.
This is critical for companies that want to sell hardware and electronically delivered software in a kit.
