'm in the midst of a payroll update to 2.20.

The Sage100Payroll2.20.0.exe can be run and it automatically installs to the correct path

The Sage100Payroll2.20.0ProgramFixPR6016T.exe can be run and it automatically installs to the correct path

The Sage100Payroll2.20.0ProgramFixPR6017T.exe can be run and it automatically installs to the correct path

The Sage100EndOfYearIRD2019.EXE has to be unzipped to a folder

- From the folder, you then have to run Sage 100 End of Year IRD2019.exe
- The IRD doesn't know where Sage is installed ( unlike the other 3 installs shown above ) and you have to point to the \MAS90 folder manually

Not a huge deal - but why can't all of these updates be self-installable - why is the IRD still a multi-step manual process. Why even zip/compress the IRD - most people have fast downloads and the file size savings isn't material.

Comments

  • The audience is clapping!

  • To be clear about what is being asked - I would like to see a "check for updates" button within at least the payroll module where hotfixes are issued much more frequently.

I'm certain there are a few "gotchas" to work through. Other products have worked through them and are able to offer a one-click "check for updates". Sage needs to work through them and offer a one-click "check for updates".

Please. It's been 30 years since Sage 100 was released and this seems like something that should have been offered 10+ years ago.
