The product line should be in any history file that contains inventory items. That way, you would know what product line was in play when the history transaction was created. Once you change the product line for an item you have no idea what GL account was affected by the history transaction. Better still, store the GL account affected in any history transaction containing an inventory item. Item Transaction History and BM Prodution are examples of two history files where you have no idea what GL account was posted to for each transaction.
