Need the capability to be able to release Transfer order with lead time to move material from one warehouse location to another.
As we know, warehouse locations can be very far apart. A request/execution to move inventory from one warehouse location to another can take time and Sage does not have a function that shows the material allocation/requirement, or the future replenishment arrival date, based transit/cycle time to execute the task.
This leave us with the need to be able to create a transfer order with lead time, that generates a picking request ( from whs ) and a receipt (To Whs), this allocation and replenishments would need to be visible in the item inquiry windows.
The process flow should be the below:
Create Transfer order ( select the from and two) Lead time can be defaulting values in the setup, establish projected arrival date.
Release the order
Pick the order
Invoice/Post ( Material is held an in-Transit account )
Ship material
Material Arrives at Destination
Inspect
Receipt/Invoice/Post
Material is ready for use
As a Note:
Open transfer would be visible in the IRP for demand and replenishment calculation.
