when an inquiry is sent to Excel, it resides in the data folder. If a Payroll Inquiry is run with Employee salary information, anyone who goes into the data folder in Explore can open up the inquiry and see all the payroll information. Not a great idea.
Also, all these excel files clutter up the data folder.

Provide a file location for sending the Inquiries to and have them reside there.

  • This is very important

  • Both of these posts were entered about a year ago. I'm JUST NOW discovering this breech of our security settings, and therefore had hundreds of inquiries that were available for anyone to access. Why weren't we notified that this issue existed??? Why isn't this fixed by now???

  • Huge deal here. System should allowed for a custom File Location setting that the user can set for where inquires are "sent" after export.

  • This issue is a huge security risk since anyone with access to Sage could access a query from Payroll and have everyone's name, address, SSN, DOB, and direct deposit bank account information. This is a huge flaw in the product design and needs to be fixed immediately.

  • This is VERY important. Why do we even need to keep a copy of the Excel file? If the user wants to save it, they will save it in Excel, just like any other Excel file. Don't keep a copy in our main data folder.

  • This enhancement will be included in version 20.1 that is scheduled for release early summer 2020.

  • The ability to specify where the Excel file is saved when exporting to Excel has been release in v20.1. Thank you everyone for your input on this feature enhancement.
