It would be wonderful to have the ability to import a schedule of values into a contract as contract line items. Limited ability to do this now is Job Central but would also like the ability for T & M and unit price projects.

Nay response to this? I am new to setting up contacts and have used Job Central to setup descriptions but would love to be able to setup the entire line item.

Yes, this would be a great time saver for us, there is currently job central, however it is limited in what settings we could use compared to what is available in Sage, also it doesn't transpose the information filled in the tabs of contract when creating a new line in Job Central. This would also be a great enhancement if an import function can't be done in Contracts.
Any new line items entered in job central should include the same information entered in previous lines from Tabs in contracts.
Just to add, the import function in Job Central may be great, however it will take more time to input the items in the necessary tabs (AR, BILLING and etc), especially if a contract has more than 30-100 line items.
These are things that make life easier. We work mainly in unit price contract environments where you have CNs that could make up to 3000 lines.
This has to be manually input!

Great Idea! This would help a lot and would make this task simpler. You should be able to import like you can import direct job cost and just have a template excel file and fill out the proper fields. We build residential where we need a contract on every home with the bank, for draws. Currently you have to run of the standard and then fill in every contract items (70+) with proper job, lot, & cost code. That is tedious when all that changes on each contract is the amount, job, & lot. All the cost code to contract item mapping is very time consuming!
Please, Please, Please let us import the Schedule of Values into Contracts. Ours are mostly the same for every contract but not exactly and when we have a huge job having to type that all into Contracts is a nightmare. My PM's do their SOV in Excel so if i could just modify that and import into Contracts that would be awesome! I get so tired of typing the same things over and over and we can't use the Standard Contracts because we don't know what the SOV will be like when we set the contract up.
Importing would be great or add the ability to pull in additional columns in Job Central. Another option is open these records to ODBC creatable. Set status to "proposed" or something other than approved so user goes into Contracts & approves it and items with it as they do now. His is a HUGE issue for clients with unit based contracts with 100+ line items.
This would be a huge time saver, especially when you have contracts with anywhere from 30 to 130 line items.
Now that we can import SOVs into Contracts via Job Central, the flow from Job Central to Contracts needs to be improved. Need to be able to import everything necessary for the contract at one time. Right now, the import on collects part of the Contract requirements. This means import through Job Central and then go into Contracts and finish the set up and mark approved. Too many steps. Also, when importing the SOV through Job Central, it takes WAY too long. I could actually, manually key in everything, faster than importing. Please increase the speed in which we can import multiple lines at one time. I imported 7 lines the other day and it took 30 MINUTES!!
