Submittal Specification Numbers
The CSI specification numbers used in Pj are outdated. The new numbering system can be found at; http://www.masterformat.com/revisions/
There are still a few projects that are using the old numbers but most are now on the new numbering system.
Tying the submittal number to the specification number with this new format is even a bigger problem especially when the Pj specification numbers do not match our project specification numbers.
Another trend we are seeing is architects are not using formal specifications. On these projects all the information is on the plans (there are no specification books) and the work items are not tied to a specification number.
The submittal numbers need to be independent from the specification numbers.
