Today for the first time ever I opened Sage 300 CRE Main and it started to install some kind of unknown update and indicated that I should close open windows or a reboot would be required. At first I clicked cancel. But within minutes it started up again on it's own and installed. During this time I could not closed TS-Main. When the update was done it says reboot required. I deferred reboot but no feel that I cannot use the accounting software until the reboot as I don't have any clue what state it is in. I have a File and Folder backup from a NAS drive to my external hard drive going in the background, It will take over an hour to complete. Now I am stuck without access to my Sage Timberline 300 CRE software until the backup finishes. I dare not cancel and restart that backup as it could leave it in an unstable state. I need to get information to my boss ASAP and now I am delayed when time is critical. It is imperative that users are allowed deferral of updates. The system should ask, not just update!!!! Further more an update (when it asks) should tell you what it is updating and what is changed by the update!!!! Until the users confirms it is ok to update it should not.
