It would be nice if on the standard contract template you could have the option to go ahead and map the contract item to a standard cost code. Then when you go in and create a contract off the standard, you could assign the overall contract to a job and/or extra and it would auto map the contract items accordingly.
We build residential construction - 150 homes per year. Each home gets a contract with the bank, for funding draws. Currently we create a standard template contract and then turn it into an active when we are ready to take down the lot. Then we have to go in and assign each (70+) contract item, the same job, lot, & specific cost code. We feel this could be done in a simpler manner by having the option to fill all the contract items with a job & lot and then have the standard contract link the items to the standard cost codes. Obviously if the cost code didn't exist on the job/lot, there would be a warning.
