The Custom Sort field determines where the physical check is to be distributed. When over 800 checks are printed, having the Custom sort field printed on the check stub would facilitate the batching of different distribution groups. It would also be helpful in resorting the checks should they somehow get out of order when dropped or mistacked, etc.
